January 17 Positive ThinkingIt is so inspiring to read other poeples blogs and live spaces. It really does help in your weightloss journey. Goals this week are to keep a more consistant journal, not only journaling my diet and excercise, but my THINKING!!! I have the opportunity every morning at my job to watch the Today Show!! Luv Ann Curry! This morning they had a lady on talking about actually writing down when you are thinking negatively and then automatically training yourself to turn it into something positive.....think about what you are thinking about it.....don't complain.
If you don't like something change it. If you can't change it change your attitude." Maya Angelou (compliments of Jennifer Geitz) January 09 Discipline 010809LET ME TELL YOU!!! It's all about discipline and I know somewhere down deep I have it, because the days ALWAYS start off GREAT it's just the end of the day that gets me. Work functions......there are so many....parties...never ending.....AND there's always food and drinks involved. How can you be social and not drink or eat??? Please anyone out there what do you do? How do you find a happy medium?? I know it's possible - I've done it before - I'm just struggling this week. I feel good still and know that the more I incorporate excersise into my daily routine, the more I will want to be healthy. I used to do Bikram Yoga a few times a week - talk about detox....you NEVER wanted to drink or eat toxic after that workout!! It's just really expensive. Need more discipline and a tad more confidence - then I will be well on my way! KELLY
January 06 It's all about the forkHello out there! Welcome to the first 'official' blog of the Kim/Kelly sista team :). We thought that instead of starting with the usual demographics-we would share who we REALLY are -kind of what makes us tick. Here's hoping this will be carthartic for all of us.......
As we see it- it all comes down to the fork. Not the one in the brownies in the fridge- the proverbial one stuck in the road of your life. While this imagery usually brings to mind the pursued path that one begins down AFTER choosing the right or left road, WE contend that for most, (including us) two other options exist.
One- get aggrevated, even rebel against the fork, shaking a fist and saying "who are you to tell me what to do, where to go, what to eat! I can do whatever I want! No path will contain me !! I don't have to choose one path or the other...I can go straight down the middle and make choices as each situation demand it ; jump paths at my my own logic's discression. At first glance , the logic seems irrefutable-it seems like such an exciting path! But what happens after the honeymoon? You have laid the foundation of a chaotic life. By NOT choosing a path, so you can follow them all, you will never experience the solace of sticking to something, growing roots and bearing fruit. The fruit of a healthy life- not the least of which is being physically healthy.
Ok- so you say "whats the second option?" What if you are not the fist-shaking kind of chick? Maybe you choose the path of indecision. You come upon our friend the fork and it is as big as a skyscraper! It is SOO big in fact that it obscures any path you might possibly travel down. You stand looking up, gripped by fear, doubt and anxiety.....indecisions' best friends. You get so caught up in THINKING about the decision and worrying over which way to go - that the action of placing foot to path never occurs. YOU- my friend- have never committed to a path either! You have never even started walking! The experience of realizing the joy , strength and anticipation that comes from putting action behind a decision- the resiliency you find within yourself after climbing out of the inevitable pitfall along the road. Bruised, but still alive and better prepared for the journey. All of the wonderful things you are and can DO and BE can never be fulfilled until you combat the fear of failure with the action of availability. Availabity to the adventure of your life.
You see, both of these paths produce the same fruit- a life where there is chaos, clutter and uncertainty. And Kelly and I are sick and tired of it- literally. We won't accept this one more day- not for ourselves or our loved ones.
So this is where we begin. You'll probably figure out through this process what path we were following before we both decided to cut the crap and get on the right path! We know that this time has to be different because the stakes are so high (more about that later).I hope this helps you to consider if you're on a path similar to us. If you are - ok- but now you can change direction with us! Move from the CONSIDERATION process to the KNOWLEDGE of it and then to the ACTION ! That's where Kelly and I find ourselves. We are ready to CHANGE. Because it really is all about the fork. In every decision we make - no matter how far down the path you are. Just think about it. It really is what it all comes back to. The decisions and indecisions we choose are the cornerstones of our lives. Yes- my friends- The fork is there and will not be denied!!!
hope this helps.....
